Day 36 of 40 Days Prayer for America

Target: Judiciary

Psalm 2:10-12 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little.  Blessed are all those who trust in Him.

Founding Father Quote: “The Christian religion—its general principles—must ever be regarded among us as the foundation of civil society.”
-Daniel Webster

Prayer: Dear God, today our country is suffering from the overwhelming burden of crime and immorality.  Our lack of integrity threatens the sanctity of a peaceful life that we know is found only in You.  Lord, turn the hearts of every judge in the U.S. Judiciary, from the local to the national level.  May each man and woman seek Your face in the laws they are making and upholding.  May You grant them the wisdom of Solomon.  Protect their minds and hearts from deception and make them single-minded, not wavering in their faith.  We thank You for our system of checks and balances and ask that You restore and preserve it.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Target: Court System
Psalm 2:10 “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.  Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.’

Founding Father Quote “While we are using the means in our power, let us humbly commit our righteous cause to the great Lord of the Universe, who loveth righteousness and hateth inequity.
-John Hancock, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, President of Congress

Prayer: Father, our judicial system has become prolific in spreading unrighteousness throughout our nation.  Your Word says that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.  Our nation is in a state of turmoil, because we have been unfaithful to follow Your commands.  Because of our foolish choices, we now have men and women with no regard for your Word in seats of judgment.  We have allowed the laws of our land to become perverted by these rulers, when we should have spoken up during local, county and national elections.  Forgive us for our silence.  We humble ourselves, Lord, and ask for Your merciful intervention.  If we are to survive as a nation, we need to change the ungodly policies that are currently in place.  Though we deserve Your judgment, we are asking for a full pardon.  We have become a nation who has turned her back on You.  We ask that, like David, You renew a right spirit within us, that you return us to the one true God of our forefathers.  May the judges and attorneys that walk the hallways of our courthouses put You first.  May the lawmakers put You first.  May Your outstretched arm once again cover us as a shield.  And may Your blessing be upon our lawmakers as they take us back to a country that is one nation under God, for the people and by the people.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
