Colossians 2:2-3 …be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ. In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Founding Father Quote: “…I know that my Redeemer liveth…I am not interested in science or anything else that leaves God out of it.” -George Washington Carver
Prayer: Father God, we have removed Your hallowed Name from the door posts of the very universities established to honor You. We have kicked You out of our elementary, middle and high schools and allowed idolatry to infiltrate the hallways that train our children. Your Word says to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. But we have left our first love and allowed wickedness to reign supreme in our school system. We have taken your Commandments off the walls. We have banned public prayer to you, but allowed other religions to pray to their own gods. We have completely disobeyed the command telling us to have no other gods before You. We ask for Your forgiveness, and that You have mercy upon our children. May they not inherit the blame for our foolish choices. Forgive us for locking You out of the school house, for taking Your Word out of our text books and instead allowing alternate learning to replace our Christian values. Forgive us for not standing up for what we know is the good and the right thing to do. Lord, turn our hearts back to the Bible, back to the Source of all knowledge and wisdom. May our children take on the minds of Christ. May they choose the path that is narrow, even in a world full of ridicule and hatred for Your followers. It is only through Your help that we have even the remote possibility of regaining our schools. We ask that You allow us the opportunity to once again place You first in our schools, that we may bring honor to Your name. Amen.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Founding Father Quote: “Oh how I wish the people would awake up from their lethargy and come out soul and body for Christ…the more my ideas develop, the more beautiful and grand seems the plan I have laid out to pursue, or rather the one God has destined for me… (Let us pray that the Lord will completely guide us in all things, and that we may gladly be led by Him.)” -George Washington Carver: Born a slave in 1864, he became world renowned, addressing presidents and kings. As a scientist at Tuskegee Institute, he discovered 300 uses of the peanut and 100 uses of the sweet potato.
Prayer: Jesus, You are the Creator of the universe, and all good and perfect gifts come from above. You have formed man in your own image, as a creative being. Forgive us, Lord, for allowing our own foolish greed and selfish ambition to precede our desire for You. Your Word clearly says to seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, and we have sought everything but You. We are a people in search of a purpose, when You have given us a design destiny that we have all but avoided. May we return to seek Your perfect will and purpose for our lives. Today, we call on Your hand to direct us in every future endeavor, that whatever we put our hands to will prosper to the glory of God the Father. Reveal to us the person You would have us to be. We seek Your face, expecting that Your supernatural revelation for our lives is already on the way. You have given us a future and a hope, and we ask now that You begin to birth that hope anew in our hearts. Bless us in our businesses, that the work we do will bring honor and glory only to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Target: Work Ethic
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work…
The industrious George Washington Carver said, “I shall be glad to cooperate with you in doing all I can through Christ who strengthens me to better the condition of our people.” He understood God’s will for man to be productive citizens.
Father in Heaven, we come before you today, asking forgiveness for not obeying Your command to work diligently until the day of Your return. We are commanded to seek You first, and we have sought the pleasures of our flesh instead. We ask Your forgiveness for being lazy and self-serving. Starting today, may everything we do bring honor and glory only to You. May we bring You pleasure through the fruits of our labor. Lord, within our government, spark a legislative movement to bring accountability to these United States once again. From the strongest of our members to the weakest, may we come to experience You in a very real way. May we worship you in our jobs, setting a Godly example as a shining light for all to see. We pray for those enslaved by our welfare system; may they come to know what true freedom is, and that it can only be found in You. Ignite in us a deep desire to honor You in all that we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you John Hagee Ministries for these daily prayers and thoughts.
