If you struggle to get your kids to talk to you, maybe there are some great pointers here.

For those of you who enjoy what happens at the highest court in the land.  Three cases upcoming which have significant impact on our nation.

How do you deal with the attacks on your Christian worldview?  Here are some other thoughts.

Another good article on how to make dinner time the most memorable time of day.

Very funny piece with Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Richards.  How do they think and converse like that?

11 of 40 Days of Prayer for America 10.8.12

Target: Court System
Psalm 2:10 “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.  Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.’

Founding Father Quote “While we are using the means in our power, let us humbly commit our righteous cause to the great Lord of the Universe, who loveth righteousness and hateth inequity.
-John Hancock, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, President of Congress

Prayer: Father, our judicial system has become prolific in spreading unrighteousness throughout our nation.  Your Word says that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.  Our nation is in a state of turmoil, because we have been unfaithful to follow Your commands.  Because of our foolish choices, we now have men and women with no regard for your Word in seats of judgment.  We have allowed the laws of our land to become perverted by these rulers, when we should have spoken up during local, county and national elections.  Forgive us for our silence.  We humble ourselves, Lord, and ask for Your merciful intervention.  If we are to survive as a nation, we need to change the ungodly policies that are currently in place.  Though we deserve Your judgment, we are asking for a full pardon.  We have become a nation who has turned her back on You.  We ask that, like David, You renew a right spirit within us, that you return us to the one true God of our forefathers.  May the judges and attorneys that walk the hallways of our courthouses put You first.  May the lawmakers put You first.  May Your outstretched arm once again cover us as a shield.  And may Your blessing be upon our lawmakers as they take us back to a country that is one nation under God, for the people and by the people.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 9 of 40 Days of Prayer for America 9.06.12

Target: Women

Proverbs 31:10 “
Who can find a virtuous woman?  For her price is far above rubies.”

Abigail Adams, a Patriot during the American Revolution, understood what makes a woman great:  “Adhere to those religious sentiments and principles which were early instilled into your mind, and remember that you are accountable to your Maker for all your words and actions.”

Prayer: Lord God, forgive us for being women who have traded righteousness for our own self-indulgence.  Draw us unto You.  Take us under Your sheltering wing and flood us with the truth found in Your Word.  Make us women of virtue.  May the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable unto Thee oh Lord.  May we become a light in a dark place, a treasured wife, an honored mother and a respected citizen.  Show us our strengths and let our weaknesses be made perfect in You.  For without You, we are nothing.  Make us strong in spirit and truth, that we might glorify Your Holy Name in all that we say and do.  In Jesus’ precious name we pray and ask, Amen.

Day 8 of 40 Days of Prayer for America 9.5.12

Target: Men
Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

Founding Father Quote: “Integrity takes a stronger hold of the human heart than any other virtue.  By integrity, I mean a strict consistency between thoughts, words and actions.”  - Benjamin Rush, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, “Father of Public Schools Under the Constitution.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You have allowed man to be placed in a position of authority over nature, marriage, business, ministry and government.  Your word is very clear that integrity is necessary for successful leadership.  Shamefully, the average American has been more influenced by modern technology and media outlets than by Your Word.  We spend more time entertaining ourselves than we do seeking Your will for our lives.  We ask forgiveness for not putting You first, for not seeking those things that honor you before seeking our own pleasure.  We ask that you begin to strengthen the moral fiber of our nation as we firmly take a stance on the promises found in Your Word.  May You be glorified in our successes, and lifted up by our thoughts, words and deeds.  As the spiritual leaders of our homes, may we honor You with our own families first, and may our hunger and thirst for You spread throughout our nation.  We praise Your holy name, Amen.

Day 7 of 40 Days of Prayer for America 9.04.12

Target: Public Servants
Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

Founding Father Quote:  “The man who is conscientiously doing his duty will ever be protected by that righteous and all powerful Being; and when he has finished his work, he will receive an ample reward.”

Prayer: O Lord, thank You for our American form of government which allows the common citizen to rise to positions of influence. We ask Your forgiveness for not being good stewards over this great privilege. While righteousness exalts a nation, we have fallen into a spirit of complacency. We have taken so much for granted and allowed our public offices to become occupied by the ungodly. We have failed to speak out, to vote, to educate others on the Biblical principles surrounding Election Day. Forgive us, Father, for not actively seeking You regarding public affairs. Give our public servants the mind of Christ, that they might use their authority for good. We ask that our leaders seek Your plans for our country, our states, our cities. May we exalt You in our public hallways; may Your name constantly be on our lips. We praise You as the one true God, for Your mercy and Your faithfulness to us, an undeserving people. We ask for wisdom to saturate every man and woman in a place of authority, so that this nation can return to her first love, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. May we build a stronger America for the sake of our children, and our children’s children. As we enter election season, may You begin to prepare men and women who have a heart to not only hear, but act upon the promises found in Your Word. May these anointed leaders be placed in offices You have designed for them, that we might rise up again as the world’s strongest nation, one nation under God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
